Hi, welcome to Rogdabbit Aviation Photographs. My name is Tony Roper and I'm an Area Air Traffic Controller. I've worked in ATC for over 21 years, most of which as both a Civil Controller and an Assistant. Prior to that I worked as an Assistant in the RAF for 8 years. I've been interested in aircraft since I was 12 and I've taken photographs of them for the vast majority of that time. I've been lucky enough to have had my photos published in many magazines through the years, as well as having some of my work used in books and by corporate companies around the world. This website is a collection of some of my favourite images Finally, after two years of living in Scotland, I've been able to make it to RAF Leuchars. It's been somewhere I've wanted to go to since I made my move up here and with a forecast of good weather I decided now was the time to do it. The weather was good, although quite cold; but the setting is fantastic with the estuary and sea at the end of Runway 27. It is a bit of a walk though - I think camping the night before may be the answer next time There were three groups in the morning, and three in the afternoon - totalling 7 different Typhoons for the day, which seems to be the norm from previous reports. There were also plenty of practice diversions from Lossiemouth Tornados to kill any quiet moments that did occur I will be returning to this base before it closes thats for sure
